Scentle is a free hobby project, a daily fragrance puzzle. By using the site you agree to the things below. They're short on purpose.

The service

A new puzzle drops every day. Sometimes I miss a day. Sometimes I'll re-roll a puzzle if the data was wrong. Sometimes I'll wipe the leaderboard, change the rules, change the design, or take the whole thing offline without notice. There is no SLA, no guarantee of availability, no guarantee that your progress is preserved across breaking changes.

Fragrance data

Fragrance metadata (notes, accords, brand information) is publicly available data referenced from Parfumo and other catalogs, curated by hand. I do my best to keep it accurate but the underlying sources are crowdsourced; the answers reflect what's published there, not absolute truth. If you spot a wrong note pyramid, an outdated brand, or a misattributed perfumer, email me.

I don't claim ownership of the underlying fragrance data and will remove any specific entry on legitimate request from a rights holder. Email below.

Intellectual property

The puzzle UI, copy, gameplay, and code are mine. Fragrance metadata is third-party and credited above. Brand and product names are trademarks of their respective owners and used here for descriptive purposes only (nominative use); no affiliation or endorsement is implied.

What you can't do

• No automated scraping of this site. The fragrance data on Parfumo is the source of record. Go scrape that, not me. (Politely.)
• No abusing the site at high request volume. Rate limits will hit you before I do, but if you sustain it I'll block the IP.
• No reverse-engineering the puzzle answer through the API to spoil future puzzles for others. The answer-of-the-day is server- authoritative for a reason.
• No reposting the puzzle UI or fragrance data as your own product.

No warranty

Provided "as is". No warranty of fitness, accuracy, or anything else. If a wrong answer ruins your day, that's on you. (Email me and I'll fix it.)

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, I'm not liable for damages arising out of using or being unable to use this site. This includes lost progress, data loss during deletion, missed daily puzzles, or spoilers from your friends.

Privacy

Privacy and data handling are documented separately on the privacy page, including how to delete your data.

Changes

These terms may change. The new version replaces this page on publication; continued use means you accept it. Last updated: 2026-05-06.
