A daily puzzle for
fragrance lovers.

Every day Scentle picks one perfume from its catalog and asks: can you name it from the notes? You get six tries. Hints drip in after each guess. By guess six the answer is usually in reach, if you've been paying attention to the trail.

01

How it plays

You start cold: just the note pyramid (top, heart, base) and an empty input. Type a fragrance you think it might be. If you're wrong, the score dot turns black, your guess is logged, and a new clue appears: maybe the era it came out, maybe its country of origin, maybe the perfumer behind it.

Don't want to burn a guess on a hunch? Hit skip. It still costs you a try, but you get the next clue without putting anything wrong on your scorecard. Then you keep going. Six tries, six chances. After that the bottle reveals itself either way.

02

Where the fragrances come from

Scentle pulls its catalog from Parfumo, the encyclopedic fragrance database. Notes, accords, perfumers, community ratings, bottle photos: all sourced there. We hand-pick around 150 fragrances at launch, weighted toward the popular niche and designer releases that most fragrance fans have at least heard of.

Every detail page links back to the original on Parfumo for deep dives. Scentle is a fan project. Parfumo doesn't run this site, and any mistakes in note classification or hint laddering are mine.

Frequently asked

Do I need an account?

No. There's no signup, no email, no password. Open the page and start playing.

Is it free? Are there ads?

Free. No ads, no in-app purchases, no premium tier. Maybe one day a tip jar.

I don't know much about fragrances. Can I still play?

Yes, and you'll learn a lot. The first few weeks you'll mostly miss, but you'll start to recognize the patterns: which notes cluster together, which houses make what kinds of scents, which decades smell like what. After a month it gets very playable.

How is the daily fragrance picked?

From a hand-picked pool, weighted to be findable but not obvious. We avoid scheduling the same brand twice in a row and try to mix eras + scent families across the week. Your puzzle is the same as everyone else's puzzle for the day.

Can I replay old puzzles?

Yes. The replay archive lets you play any past day. Your guesses on past days are tracked separately from your current streak.

What about my data?

No tracking pixels, no analytics on your behavior, no third-party cookies. Your guess history lives in the browser and on our server keyed to an anonymous identifier. Clear your site data and you vanish.

I found a bug / a wrong note.

Mail me at hello@scentle.cc with what you saw and which fragrance. I'll fix it.
